The Big Fake Wedding is a trade show like no other. Instead of walking around, being bombarded by vendor after vendor, the Big Fake Wedding has created an event to showcase the best in the wedding industry in a unique way.
To the public eye, the event we attended in Denver last week could have been a real wedding. Leading up tot the event, vendors spent an entire day transforming NOAH’s event center into a truly beautiful wedding venue. The bride and groom are actually a married couple that wants to use The Big Fake Wedding as a venue to renew their vows.
The day of the event I visited with vendors and watched the event space change before my eyes. The vendors collaborated to ensure that the couples’ “big day” went off without a hitch.
Each table in the reception area was displayed differently to showcase various styles and decor. The flowers were beautifully arranged in several styles through out the venue as well. We could see the excitement of the guests as they wandered from table to table collecting ideas for their big day!
Having attended trade shows in the past, I thought this event surpassed the mundane traditional setup that most people find overwhelming. This event aided in giving the vendors a realistic way to showcase their wedding skills not only to media outlets such as Brides Magazine, but also to future brides and grooms. Most of the attendees were actually shopping for their wedding while enjoying the party!
Although we really did love all aspects of the wedding, from the DJ, to the cotton candy vendor and the slow-motion videos, we picked 3 handmade vendors that really stood out to us.
#1. Nerida Mason
Although currently living in Colorado, Nerida Mason is from Australia creating her gorgeous jewelry and headwear since 2013. Entirely self-taught, design has always been a passion and serves as an inspiration for her creations that embody a fresh approach to bridal design.
With elements of whimsy and playfulness, her pieces are modern, compelling, and are created with the most delicate of handcrafted materials. Unique and refined, Nerida’s pieces really articulate the individuality of the brides, weddings, and relationships.
#2. Sugar Ink Design
Located in Littleton, Colorado, Sugar Ink Designs offer custom prints and photography for any occasion. They created the wedding invitations and the save-the-dates cards for the Big Fake Wedding. We were really surprised by the detail and intricate design they created. Not only were they incredible kind, Sugar Ink designs are clearly very talented and passionate about their work.
Having won multiple wedding invitation and bride’s choice awards, we would absolutely recommend their services to all in search of custom card designing or photography!
#3. Postscripts
Husband and wife duo, Postscripts offer some of the coolest and most unique pieces we saw at the event. They handcraft premiere wood cake and cupcake stands. Each piece is made from real wood that they have been given or have found in the Royal Gorge. Not only were owners Tex and Paula the sweetest people, they are clearly incredible loving about their craft.
Rustic and imaginative, I really hope to use their stands on my special day!
A giant thank you to The Big Fake Wedding for inviting us to their event. It is an amazing event concept and we can’t say enough about the amazing behind-the-scenes team that make this event possible! We love finding other organizations that are as passionate about promoting positivity and small businesses, and the Big Fake Wedding team is just as invested as we are. In addition to helping vendors showcase their goods, they highlight the importance of shopping small and support healthy and committed marriages.
Who wouldn’t want to support that!?
Thank you so much for everything you’re doing, Big Fake Wedding. We cannot wait to continue collaborating with you!
