We asked Jessica from Gypsy Tribe Jewels what inspired her to start her small business and what challenges or benefits she has seen along the way. Relatable? We think so!
Meet The Maker
I began Gypsy Tribe Jewels when I decided I wanted to create jewelry and home decor purely from the soul. I only design pieces I truly love with a wide variety of materials. Nature is very inspiring to me, I love to incorporate things of the earth in my pieces. I have always had a love for fashion since I was very young, and I went on to study fashion and design in New York. The skills and knowledge I acquired from my degree have definitely inspired me greatly in my work.
There are so many benefits of being a handmade artisan it is difficult to narrow it down to just a few! One benefit is having the freedom to step out of the box and be myself through my designs. I love the benefit of seeing a sketch or idea come to life as an actual piece of art.
Lastly, I enjoy seeing and hearing the joy and excitement from someone after purchasing their new item. A challenge I face occasionally can be finding myself in a creative rut. I think as artists we all face this from time to time, the best advice I have for this is to step away and take a break.
