One amazing part of what we do here at Handmade Loves is interact and get to know all the talented makers in charge of their small businesses. Our meet the maker pieces really allow us to show others just how incredible our makers are, not just with their crafts but with their perseverance and inspiration stories. Today’s maker crush Monday is all about this: strength, tenacity & passion.

Meet the Maker
I am so inspired by the renewability of natural fibers.
After owning my dream knit shop/pottery studio for almost a decade, life suddenly shifted direction for me and my children. I took some much needed time off and moved us back to my home town to be near friends and family. Little by little I started revisiting my stash.
I remembered how much I loved the tactility of the wet felting process, that raw natural fibers like fleece and bamboo felt so good in my hands. I realized that making things by hand is what I loved to do, what I wanted to do, and what I needed to do more than ever before for my own sanity and to help me heal. I started felting and creating forms and explored textures with various fibers.
From one of a kind wearable art pieces to sculpted air planters and wall hangings loaded with texture, all of my work comes from the heart, as I’ll always remember what led me to experience, once again the magic of painting and sculpting with this amazing “fibery” medium.
