Product Description
This is my first-ever torc, and I have to admit that I’m quite taken with this first attempt. It’s called the Montague Torc Necklace, and it pairs quite nicely (though not in a too matchy-matchy way) with the Capulet pendant, which is also available in the shop.
The torc has Celtic origins, and can also be spelled ‘torque’. Either way, I’m in love with the open-collar style, and the way it can be easily layered with other necklaces. One thing – it will twist/spin a bit around your neck, especially in the winter if you are wearing a scarf. There is nothing to be done about this – your body moves, and so will your jewellery!
It is slightly adjustable, though you should be able to just slide it onto your neck. Please keep in mind that it shouldn’t be pulled too roughly, or past the point of tension, or it will lose its shape.
This piece is solid sterling silver – the long middle section that curves around your neck is solid, round sterling wire. The two identical ends are carved in wax, and then cast by me in sterling as well. The details have been oxidized for contrast and depth.
Now go on and get torc’ed!
